Dignity Health Medical Group Ventura County, a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, is a multi-specialty clinic with seven locations in Ventura County, including Camarillo, Oxnard, and Thousand Oaks. Along with our local affiliated hospitals at St. John's Regional Medical Center and St. John's Hospital Camarillo, we are committed to providing high quality, compassionate care throughout Ventura County.

Your New Role
As the Family Medicine Residency Associate Program Director, you will:
- Lead and Mentor Residents: Work closely with the Program Director to supervise and mentor residents, creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment. Provide direct teaching and continuous supervision in both clinical and academic settings to foster the development of emerging family physicians.
- Curriculum Oversight & Innovation: Collaborate with the Program Director to oversee the development of a robust and innovative curriculum that aligns with ACGME standards and meets the evolving needs of residents and the healthcare system.
- Accreditation & Compliance: Assist in ensuring that the Family Medicine Residency Program maintains compliance with ACGME requirements, institutional policies, and regulations for affiliated clinics and other hospitals. Support accreditation processes and documentation, ensuring ongoing program excellence.
- Resident Recruitment & Retention: Support the recruitment, selection, and retention of residents, ensuring that a diverse and highly skilled cohort is chosen each year. Help facilitate the residency orientation process and participate in resident assessments, remediation, and career counseling.
- Program Evaluation & Improvement: Collaborate with the Program Director to evaluate and improve the residency program, identifying areas for growth and innovation. Participate in the Program Evaluation Committee to help set program priorities, improve processes, and plan strategically for program enhancement.
- Clinical & Educational Leadership: Participate in the education and training of residents, providing oversight for scholarly projects, quality improvement initiatives, and research within the residency program. Mentor residents in their academic and clinical endeavors, setting a strong example for future family medicine practitioners.
- Faculty Development & Collaboration: Work with the Program Director to support faculty development, providing guidance and professional growth opportunities for faculty members to enhance their teaching and mentoring skills.
- Resident Rotation & Scheduling: Collaborate with the Program Director, chief resident, and program coordinator to assist in creating resident rotation schedules, and help negotiate with other Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) programs and practice sites.
- Scholarship & Research: Participate in and promote scholarly work, including education research, demonstration projects, and quality improvement initiatives. Serve as a mentor and facilitator to other faculty and residents engaging in academic research.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Program Director to support the Residency Program's directives from the Designated Institutional Officer (DIO), Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Hospital President, Board of Directors, Community Board, and Chief of the Medical Staff.
